Chad Collins DMD

Dentist / Owner

Meet Dr. Collins…

I’m thankful that I have the opportunity to be your dentist. I realized I wanted to be a dentist in high school after I spent time shadowing a local dentist in my hometown. Everything just clicked. I was instantly drawn not only to the profession and the medical side of it, but also the social interaction I had with patients. The more time I spent around dentistry, I realized that some patients were reluctant to come to the dentist because of a bad experience they had in the past, and I knew I could change that. I like to infuse humor and fun into the day while working with my patients (yes, I’ve been known to sing while working!) and that, along with keeping the lines of communication open, goes a long way into making patients feel relaxed and happy about going to the dentist.

For those patients that are unhappy with the cosmetic look of their teeth, there is nothing I like more than to improve their look so they start smiling again! Each day I have the opportunity to improve not only the health of my patients, but in some cases I’m able to make a positive difference for a patient that will affect the rest of their life. I look forward to making each patient’s experience the very best and to earn their trust. It is very rewarding to be able to give that person the smile they deserve. I see daily the positive impact that a smile can have. At the end of the day, I want my patients to know that they are being treated by a team that has their best interests at heart.

Outside the Office
I grew up in Snellville, Georgia and I am one of six kids, one of which is my twin sister. My father was a missionary and we were able to travel to different parts of the world, which is how I discovered I wanted to go into a profession where I could help people. I attended University of Georgia for my undergrad and attended Medical College of Georgia in Augusta for dental school. It was in dental school that I met my wife, Leigh. We had an instant connection because, not only is she beautiful and smart, but she is also in the medical field as a Registered Nurse and her father and brother are also dentists! We got married in 2006, during my senior year of dental school. Shortly before graduation, we took a trip and traveled throughout the Georgia lake country. We were struck by the beauty of the land and the kindness of strangers. I was told my someone I looked up to growing up that I should find the place I wanted to live and raise my family, and then start my career. I took their advice and Leigh and I can happily say there hasn’t been one day that we have regretted it.

We now have two children, a son Colt and daughter Mena, who are 20 months apart. We also have a cat named Lola, who thinks she rules the house. During my free time, I enjoy almost anything sports related, especially snowboarding and wakesurfing. I love entertaining and grilling out with friends (I make a mean steak!), as well as spending time on the lake with my family and friends. During football season, you will find me in either tailgating in Athens or in front of my television supporting UGA. Go Dawgs!
